Newcomers is a network for LGBTQI people and refugees who are newly arrived in Sweden. Newcomers is a part of the organisation RFSL which is a non-profit organization that works with and for the rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and intersex people (LGBTQI).

Newcomers is part of RFSL which is a non-profit organization that works with and for the rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and intersex people (LGBTQI). It is non-partisan and not affiliated with any religious organization. We have no affiliation with any authorities such as the Migration Board or the municipality.

RFSL Newcomers är ett nätverk för och med asylsökande, papperslösa och nyanlända hbtq-personer. Våra medlemmar kommer från alla delar av världen och har ofta flytt förföljelse i sitt hemland på grund av sexuell läggning, könsidentitet eller könsuttryck.

Newcomers inom RFSL Umeå
De senaste åren har vi haft träffar ungefär varannan vecka på vår lokal i Umeå då vi umgåtts, lagat mat, sett på film, arrangerat workshops i olika ämnen såsom sexuell hälsa och annat. Inom Newcomers har vi även kunnat erbjuda rådgivning för asylsökande hbtqi-personer. Just nu ligger tyvärr denna verksamhet på is.
